Sleep is very important!

This past week, my family was out of town, so I had some "projects" I wanted to get done before they come home...

The first one was ....cleaning my office..which it so desperately needed...(I have a Celebrating Home business that I had a lot of the products in my office.)

The second one was ....cleaning my closet...which also desperately needed it!

I also wanted to make Kimchi and Sauerkraut.

So by the time they got home, I had done all of the above, plus going to my niece's first birthday party, and also had a meeting on Monday night for Celebrating Home and church on Wednesday...at the expense of being up until at least midnight every night, Thursday night, I was up until 1:30 a.m.! Which for me, is definitely NOT my normal! We are usually in bed around 9.

And my weight has told the story this week, I will see what I weight tomorrow...but I haven't seen the weight loss this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Still Here....

So, now it has been 2 weeks since I posted....hmmm...sometimes life happens!

As of last Tuesday, I have been on GAPS for 3 weeks and my weight.....

DOWN 10 pounds!!! WooHoo!!

I am loving this new way of eating...

Don't know if it is my imagination or what, but the food just tastes AMAZING!

On Sunday, I made Banana Caramel Sticky Buns from the Internal Bliss cookbook....DELICIOUS!!!

Also, made the GAPS Granola..It is FANTASTIC! (even though there is a slight taste of burnt so I can NOT wait until I make another batch) I think I am going to soak the nuts tonight....I just can't believe there are no grains in it...

My husband has been enjoying this also. One thing he said is that the indigestion and heartburn he had frequently is GONE!!! He even ate a banana the other day, and NO PROBLEMS!! These have always caused heartburn in the past!!

I am so proud of him, as he was out of town this week and has not had any Pepsi! and he is eating as healthy as he can while traveling...

He has noticed an increase in energy too!

A funny thing, he called me and had went to Subway. He had been craving a sub about 2 weeks ago, but didn't get one then and figured he would get one while out of town. He called me and said, "I have been eating good for too long" and I said "What do you mean?" He said, "I got my sub, and it didn't even taste good!!" LOL!

Still on Gaps....going strong!

Wow, it has been a week since I posted.....oops!

I am still doing the Gaps and my hubby was impressed with how I am feeling that he is eating Gaps with me! Yay!

On Tuesday, it had been 1 week on Gaps...I lost 6 lbs! WooHoo! The energy I am having is amazing...I feel great!

We have been eating the Squash Pancakes, they are yummy...when I am wanting a little sweet treat, I put some kefir cheese on it, drizzle with honey and sprinkle cinnamon...YUM!

Last night, I made the mashed "faux-tatoes" with our dinner of deer roast. They were delicious!!! For those that don't know what "faux-tatoes" are we cooked cauliflower and mashed it like potatoes with some butter! Delicious!

A few nights ago, we had spaghetti (kids had noodles) hubby and I had spaghetti squash with our sauce...loved it!

I am truly loving this way of eating and can't wait to see all the health benefits that I will get from it!

I am basically doing the Full Gaps now, so many recipes I can not wait to try!!! I will have to post them here....

Day 3 - Intro to Gaps

Day 3

Breakfast - Soft boiled eggs with butter - yummy! Beef bone broth - delicious!

Lunch - Bone broth, chicken, green beans and sauerkraut

Dinner - Farm fresh Ham, veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots) with butter
I made the pancakes with almond butter, pumpkin puree and eggs...they were delicious with butter and/or little drizzle of honey. My family even liked them!

Hubby even said he is willing to try the Gaps diet after I read to him from another blog and showed him before and after photos...what a difference 1 year can make!
Kids are resisting the change, but who knows...?

Feeling full and wishing I had more sauerkraut ready...

Day 2 - Intro to Gaps

I forgot to mention a little snack that I have had; I take kefir cheese, blend in a little honey and cinnamon.....eat it with a spoon...yummy! Full of probiotics and delicious...

Intro to Gaps - Day 1

Ok, so yesterday, March 1 was the day I decided to start my journey on Gaps!

I am going through the Intro fast because I do not have any intestinal issues and have been having kefir, kombucha, and eating whole, real food for a while.

Breakfast: I had small (1/2 c.) of smoothie. (normal smoothie at my house is kefir, spinach, beet, pulp from carrots, apple and pineapple, honey, flax seed and banana.

Cup of broth

Lunch: Chicken broth and small amount of veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)

Dinner: Chicken (cooked in crockpot), lots of veggies, homemade sauerkraut

I had a headache when I got home from work and was tired.(wasn't too bad) I ran to the store to get more cabbage to make more sauerkraut because my family likes the sauerkraut so much...needed to get more fermenting!)

After I got home, I strained my kombucha, got the next batch going, made my sauerkraut, also bought turnips to ferment.

Took an Epsom salt bath and went to bed.

Thanks for following my journey!
